One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

To those who wish I wouldn’t talk so much politics,
As far as I can tell politics is just talking, so to stop talking politics it I’d have to stop talking.
So, you’ll get you’re wish one day..

Take It To The Border
I am no expert in these matters, but it strikes me that the construction and policing along the Mexican border must cost the US more than they stand to lose from allowing ‘aliens’ into a land that was theirs in the first place. It has already been well documented that the US labor market requires immigrants to keep functioning and I believe that the border restrictions and this ridiculous fence serve only to appease right wing voters.
Call me an idealist, even call me an anarchist, but I believe in one world and view all borders as nonsense.

I took my post St Paddy’s Day hangover for a bike ride to Battery Park in the beautiful weather yesterday and by chance discovered this Irish Hunger Memorial. Who knew this was right in the middle of the city? Reminded me of the stories my Dad used to tell me about going visit his clay pipe smoking Grandma at her cottage in Donegal when he was young.
I am very proud of my Irish heritage and happy to live in a place where our culture and history is respected and celebrated. My American friends seem to have a hard time understanding when I tell them about the anti Irish discrimination that I left behind in Scotland.
