After spending a considerable amount of time at Occupy Wall St, it was fascinating to visit the Occupy camp in London on the grounds of St Paul’s Cathedral.
On the day I arrived in London, I heard that the Church of England and The City of London Corporation had pulled back from attempting to evict the protestors, after a couple of high ranking clerics had resigned from the church, fearing that an eviction would lead to violence. The church has now reversed it’s position and has offered it’s support to the occupation. This has obviously buoyed the movement and reminded me of when Mayor Bloomberg and Brookfield postponed their attempts to evict the protestors at Wall St.
I will be keeping a close eye on St Pauls from now on..
